STILL CALLED
STILL CALLED

IT STARTED WITH A PROMISE.

We raised our right hands. We said the words. We meant them.

We trusted the ones who said them back.

Then the ground moved.

The people who wrote the rules stopped keeping them. Truth became a vote, then a price, then a liability. The loud were rewarded. The honest were managed. And the bill always came due at someone's kitchen table, never in the room where it was written.

So we fought, the way we were taught to fight. Out in the open, with everything we had.

Some of it we won.

Most of it cost more than it gave back.

THE WAR WAS NEVER WHERE WE THOUGHT IT WAS.

Somewhere past the last argument, the question changed.

It stopped being who did this.

It became what's left.

Every promise we voted for turned out to be a pitch.

And the only One who never asked for our vote was the only One who never broke His word.

Jesus Christ.

He wasn't waiting at the end of the fight. He'd been standing in the middle of it the whole time.

THE MESSAGE BEFORE THE MAN.

These songs come from the road between the world we were promised and the truth we found instead.

Some are confessions. Some are warnings. Some are just a father driving home in the dark.

Not every song begins with faith. But faith runs through every one of them.

You don't have to believe what we believe to hear yourself in them.

Who wrote them doesn't matter. What they point to does.

The world changed. The calling didn't.
